This teen movie depicts the incredible adventures of two teenagers from the village. One of them fakes an illness to raise funds to buy a PlayStation. But this lie will quickly catch up with him.

What is it like to grow up in the French countryside in the 2020s? This is the question posed Younger, the new film by Hugo Thomas. The action of the film takes place in the small village of Mornas. Jordan (Evan Bourdeles) and his friend Patrick (Noah Zandush), both 14 years old, are bored. Jordan’s mother (Vanessa Paradis), a rare nurse, lets her son play PlayStation for hours. But when the console breaks down, Jordan fakes a serious illness to raise the funds to buy a new one. As if there was nothing serious for them on the Internet. This online lie goes viral and the deception spreads into real life. The two teenagers quickly find themselves overwhelmed by the stars of their college, which puts their friendship in jeopardy.

“Napoleon Dynamite”

This teen film depicts today’s rural world, where teenagers construct themselves in a paradoxical way, as they are geographically isolated but live on the world stage thanks to the Internet and social networks; “Some of these rough-and-tumble youths, of whom I was one, were more influenced by Brooklyn fashion than the New Yorkers themselves. But all this remains virtual, intangible and unattainable, like necessarily unquenched passions,” explains director Hugo Thomas, who casts himself as an observer of the French countryside.

It’s an understated tale of a discreet form of ostracism that combines both humor and emotion with a cast of endearing characters played with subtlety. It’s a question of adolescence, of course, but also of identity, self-recovery, and popularity. We find a few there beautiful children Riad Satufi, or Napoleon Dynamite By Jared Hess. The release is scheduled for July 26.
