YENA made their latest comeback with ‘Hate Rodrigo’ last Tuesday, the 27th.
Last Tuesday, the 27th, the soloist Yena made her newest comeback with the second single album “HATE XX”, which arrived accompanied by a super fun clip and full of references to the singer Olivia Rodrigo for the title track “Hate Rodrigo”, in collaboration with Yuqimember of (G)I-DLE.
However, the soloist’s fans were surprised this Thursday, the 29th, when they realized that the clip had been placed as private on the singer’s YouTube channel, without prior notice. Soon after, the Jigumi, as the artist’s fandom is called, also noticed that a good part of the teasers and videos of the launch were also excluded from social networks — especially those that had the hashtag #Hate_Rodrigo.
As verified by the South Korean press, the MV would have been taken off the air at the request of the own team of Olivia Rodrigo due to criticism and controversy surrounding the song’s title. In addition, the media also reports that the video also had copyright issues in some scenes.
During the comeback showcase, Yena clarified that, contrary to what many may have understood, she does not hate Olivia Rodrigoand the song is not an attack on the American singer.
“The song cutely and honestly expresses feelings for a person who is the object of envy and sometimes jealousy. I wanted to use ironic expressions to express my desires and affections,” explained Yena.
So far, Yuehua Entertainment, the company responsible for the soloist, the Olivia Rodrigo have not yet commented on the case. On social media, fans have shown outrage over the event. Check out some reactions:
So they named the song and put Olivia Rodrigo’s pictures in the mv without asking permission? This yena company is so stupid, in addition to dirtying the idol’s image, it puts her in a mockery situation.

people, even if it was a tribute, it was OBVIOUS that it was going to be shit
who had the bright idea to think that putting that name on the song and using her image without permission would be a good thing?? I’m sad for yena, but olivia has every right! https://t.co/1VDaZf54zh

For those who are blaming yena, people, let’s remember that it is the company that has to ask for this type of authorization and not her, if there is anyone to blame in history and the company that did not do the least as always, Yue Hua does not take care of any artist , yena has to and get out of this company bomb pic.twitter.com/WiHh6yPCv9

What’s worse is STUPID people blaming Yena and/or Olivia for this ride when this is something extremely connected to the BUSINESS issue! Not the artist.
Yeshua should have asked for Olivia’s image rights, THIS IS THE MINIMUM. https://t.co/EmYsK5f2KH
