Madame Figaro: My moodsince?
His Holiness As always, I have various projects that inspire me, and for the rest I like to spend time with my wife and my children, who are 19 and 8 years old.
Quentin Dupieux :- My news?
my next movie Yes! is slated for release this fall and focuses on the artist in the medium. Anais Demostieu plays a journalist who tries to capture a filmed portrait of Dali, commentating on various actors (Jonathan Cohen, Pio Marmai, Edouard Baer, Gilles Lelouch and Didier Flaman). This comedy is a love letter to Salvador Dali and Luis Buñuel, but also a tribute to Monty Python.
will come out later Yannick…
I wrote this mystery project for the actor Raphael Kennard and we shot this film in six days in the theater with Blanche Garden, Pio Marma, Sébastien Chassani and Agnes Hurstel.
Is the latest movie always the best?
As for me, I push the cursor forward a bit, telling myself that the best movie is always the next one. It is most connected to the present and therefore most interesting to the artist.
How did I react when I saw Charles Bosson’s documentary? Filming makes you think?
This made me happy because I realized that I was perfectly in the continuum of my child, in tune with myself. That is, I kept the desire to be a beginner, to try, and this feeling allows me to remain creative and enthusiastic. I didn’t become a fat man who orders movies out loud from his chair. Nowhere do I take myself seriously.
“I feel like I can make a great movie with anyone.”
Do I have a dream of filming a specific actor or actress?
No. I get the same pleasure out of casting Gilles Lelouch as an auditioned actor. I do the same job with a megastar or a comedian who comes in to deliver three lines and I feel I can make a great film with almost anyone.
Is it bad luck talking about myself in a promo?
Anyway, I love the exercise, even if I happen to be navigating land I don’t care about. Sometimes I find myself answering deep quirks or answers that are unlike me, just to please my interlocutor.
I often disagree with good reviews. I don’t usually end up in what a reporter likes
Quentin Dupierre
Is there a misunderstanding about me?
Because I did commercials for Levi’s that I had carte blanche for, many people identify me with advertising, even though it’s the medium I despise the most.
An opinion that makes me happy.
This embarrasses me a little because I often disagree with good reviews. I usually don’t appear in what the journalist likes. And he sometimes has a tendency to remake the film or embark on vague explanations that are beyond me. I find the negative reviews more heartening, but at the end of the day, the good papers cancel out the bad ones and vice versa.
Last time I was proud of myself?
Honestly, I’m proud of myself. I think that I am a good person, I do not pollute humanly, I am full in my work and I hope that I will do good to my family. That makes me kind of a good guy in his pumps…
