The protagonists of the live-action ‘How to Train Your Dragon’ have been revealed!

The actors responsible for bringing Hiccup and Astrid to life in the live-action ‘How to Train Your Dragon’ have been announced; check out!

The protagonists of the live-action “How to Train Your Dragon” have already been defined! This Tuesday, the 30th, Deadline announced that Mason Thames will play Hiccup, while the actress Nico Parker will bring Astrid to life.

The production is scheduled to premiere on March 14, 2025 and will be directed by Dean DeBlois, who was the writer and director of the three animated features. According to Production List, the film should start shooting on June 30th.

“How to Train Your Dragon” was released in 2010 and all productions in the franchise grossed over $1.6 billion, making it one of DreamWorks’ biggest hits. Hiccup and Toothless also got a Christmas special that is available on Netflix.

DreamWorks animation tells the story of Hiccup, a young Viking who has his life turned upside down after approaching a dragon, which he names Toothless. From there, the boy, who is the son of the head of the village, tries to convince the other inhabitants that these creatures are not as evil as they think.
