Madame Figaro: What attracted you to the screenplay? time to love ?
Vincent Lacoste:That’s the romantic power of the film, this story of a couple 20 years later, the complexity of the characters, the emotional breadth of the film. And the fact that it is a very modern melodrama.
Anais Demostier. This is the amplitude for me too. My role was extremely valuable because it is the fate of an amazing woman, a woman who goes through many difficulties. I was also attracted by the fact that the film speaks in an incredibly original way about a couple, about what a couple is and what it contains from friendship, from solidarity. We tend to picture couples as some kind of entity when in reality each couple is unique. The film delves into this question in a really poignant way.

What is a scene you will never forget?
STATEMENT-A beach scene with Paul Beaurepaire playing my son Daniel when he grows up. He wants to know who his father is at all costs and chases me to the beach, he chokes me and chokes me to the ground. The character I played was, she was inspired by Katel’s grandmother. I really felt connected to her while filming this scene. It was violent and very beautiful at the same time. Kettel told me he felt the same way. It was a bit mysterious and very exciting.

How did you surprise each other on set?
VL- Anais constantly surprised me with her emotional strength. He had some really tough scenes to play where tough things happen to his character. I was very impressed with his ability to deflect emotion without being overpowered by it, to get through the film with my spirits up.
STATEMENT- And I, Vincent surprised me in this shift that he’s acting in a new kind of role. I had never seen her so vulnerable, so fragile, so internal. I was really interested to see how he was going to get out of it, I thought it was pretty cool. It took a lot of effort for him not to let his essence speak… So “sympathoch” (laughs).
