The live-action ‘The Little Mermaid’ premieres in theaters next Thursday, May 25
The live-action ‘The Little Mermaid’ hasn’t even officially premiered yet, but it’s already getting raves out there! This time, Ariel’s voice actress in the original animation, Jodi Bensonpositively highlighted the changes made by the filmmakers to both the plot and the songs in the film, in an interview with Entertainment Weekly:

“Things change. We have to deal with this. I think rob [Marshall, diretor] and John [DeLuca, produtor] did a beautiful job and still paying homage and honoring our original film. But you have to grow up. It’s very important that we stay relevant to what’s going on around us. We need to be attentive. The tweaks and tweaks they needed to make, they were mandatory, but it was done beautifully and I am really, really thrilled about it.”
