Find out the reason behind this great mystery involving one of Twilight’s greatest villains
Within the Twilight saga, we are introduced to different vampires, where each one has a special ability. While some have the powers to see the future, super strength, or even read minds, others could inflict pain on the enemy, protect their allies through force fields, among others.
However, something that left many fans curious was the fact that some of these mystical beings did not have any power – as was the case with Caius Volturi, right-hand man of the Volturi clan leader, Aro. But why does this happen?
Threat free
As found by the ScreenRant portal, the reason why Caius does not have any power can be explained through Aro. According to the website, for the leader of the clan, it would be much more advantageous to join vampires who were faithful and inferior to him in terms of skills, to reduce the chances that a rebellion would occur and he would be removed from office.
Marcus, for example, another member of the clan, has the power to sense the relationships between people just at a glance — something seen as a threat to Aro. For this reason, he decided to kill his own sister to prevent her from running away with Marcus.
Despite being one of the strongest vampires in the entire franchise, having the ability to see all the thoughts a person has ever had through just one touch, this did not prevent the leader of the Volturi from remaining with the great fear of being betrayed, and decided to end any kind of threat that arose.
It’s also exactly why Aro came to imagine that, if Caius had powers, he could have become a threat – even though he was loyal to his leader. However, both Marcus and Caius never thought of taking down the boss, making their theories a great paranoia.
Despite not having any power, Caius is still chosen by Aro as his right hand man for being one of the least risky to the clan. Furthermore, even without special abilities, the vampire remains an extremely cruel being, who takes pleasure in carrying out atrocities.
