Taking audiences to the age of dinosaurs, the series debuts on the streaming platform on May 23
After being highly anticipated by fans, the natural history series “Prehistoric Planet” will finally debut on Apple TV+ next Monday, May 23, with one new episode per day through Friday, May 27.
Directed by the BBC Studios Natural History Unit (Planet Earth) and narrated by Sir David Attenboroughthe groundbreaking 5-episode series will take audiences 66 million years into the past to discover the world of that era and the dinosaurs that lived through it.
All with impressive details and a soundtrack signed by the renowned composer Hans Zimmerwinner of several major awards, including two Oscars, for “The Lion King“, in 1995, and “Duna”, in 2022. Jon Favreau (The Mandalorian) and Mike Gunton (Planet Earth II) sign as executive producers for the series.
“Prehistoric Planet” combines award-winning wildlife filming style, recent learnings from paleontology and state-of-the-art technology to reveal ancient Earth’s spectacular habitats and inhabitants in a unique immersive experience.

Produced by the internationally renowned team at the BBC Studios Natural History Unit, supported by MPC’s realistic visual effects (The Lion King, The Mowgli: The Wolf Boy), “Prehistoric Planet” presents little-known facts that will surprise you about the life of the dinosaurs of the Cretaceous period, including scenarios such as coasts, deserts, rivers, icy worlds and forests.
From revealing Tyrannosaurus rex parenting techniques to exploring the mysterious ocean floors and the deadly perils of the skies, “Prehistoric Planet” brings the story of life on Earth like never before. Check out the trailer!
