Is there always a career mentor?
Elizabeth d’Arvier
The device that started it all.
My mother is passionate about cinema. I have spent my life in dark rooms since I was 12 years old. He took me to the ones in the Latin Quarter. I saw with him the films of Howard Hawks, John Huston, Billy Wilder, all the American cinema of those years.
Mentor?
Not really. Nice meetings, yes. Is there always a career mentor?
Your course accelerators.
In 2004, I had the opportunity to be the CFO of Angel Productions, which was a producer We are not angels, daily Canal+ program. Holding this position in a small organization is like a Swiss army knife: you learn everything.
Who trusted you?
Pierre-Antoine Capton, president of Mediawan, who contacted me five years ago. I could not join him for personal reasons. It might have been a missed date, but when I called him back a few months later, he was there.
Obstacles on the way.
A moment of slowing down. I had two kids in quick succession in my 30s, the age when you want to speed up. We should have patience to wait. It didn’t stop me from speeding up again afterwards.
Opportunities always present themselves
Elizabeth d’Arvier
What do you still have to learn?
I regret that I only speak English. I’m starting to learn Italian or Spanish this summer.
What would you like to convey?
Those opportunities always appear. when I was a teenager, I dreamed about cinema. After undergraduate, not having enough self-confidence, I went to mathematics, where I was strong, and financial studies. Then I got there.
Digital addiction?
My work is screens. I watch a lot of movies, ours, others’. So yes, I spend time there, but not on TikTok.
When are you offline?
When everyone can be, August and Christmas. You can’t disappear when you’re managing teams that aren’t working at the same time as you.
Defining your influence.
When people keep your word. You need to be well prepared for that.
What makes you fit?
Racing blows my mind. At my level of responsibility, I need an air lock, a healthier fatigue.
Weekend getaway.
LeCap-Ferret. I arrive, I walk through the pine forest, I feel better. My children e. they learned to walk on oyster shells in the pool.
