Group brand rights were granted to INFINITE ahead of their 13th anniversary of debut
The CEO of Woollim Entertainment, Lee Jung Yeopgranted the trademark rights to the name “INFINITE” to the leader of the group, Kim Sungkyu. The grant was made without charging any fees or conditions, according to information published by the Korean portal Soompi.
First registered by Woollim Entertainment in 2010, trademark rights to the name “INFINITE” were all transferred to INFINITE Company in April 2023, as well as trademark rights to the group’s fandom name “INSPIRIT”, as disclosed by Korean Intellectual Property Rights Information Service (KIPRIS).
It is worth remembering that INFINITE won the rights to the group’s brand just before their 13-year debut anniversary, which will be celebrated in June of this year with a possible comeback, as speculated by the South Korean media.
That’s because, on May 6, the group published on their social networks a teaser of the yellow logo along with the message “Coming soon”. In addition, new accounts on YouTube, Twitter, Instagram and Facebook were created. See the posts below:
More about INFINITE
Created in 2010, INFINITE was Woolim’s first group. Over the years, members have left the agency, with Nam Woohyun being the last member not to renew his contract with the company, leaving Woollim Entertainment after 14 years in October 2022.
Still, the separation did not alienate them from the CEO Lee Jung Yeop, who has enormous affection and gratitude for the group that opened several doors for the company. Insiders claimed that the CEO transferred the rights to the group’s brand to Sungkyuon the idol’s birthday, on April 28, although, as reported by Koreaboo, the trademark registration website reveals that the process took place on April 21.
