There are some things about Ginny Weasley, one of the most beloved characters in the Harry Potter universe, that don’t make sense; check out!
Ginny Weasley is one of the favorite characters of Harry Potter fans – in addition to being one of the most important in the journey of the protagonist. In books written by J.K. Rowlingthe character is much more prominent than in the movies, where she is played by the actress Bonnie Wright.
Even in the books, where Ginny is more present in the story, there are some things about the characters that don’t make sense, or even have no explanation. Check out some of these facts!
1. The most popular girl in school
The only Weasley girl became, at some point, the most popular girl at Hogwarts. Fans of the wizarding universe only learned of the character’s popularity when Harry realized the social status of his best friend’s sister in “Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince”.
It wasn’t a big surprise that she became popular, however, many people wonder how she did it, as Harry doesn’t talk about the subject at all.
2. The Chamber of Secrets
Ginny was introduced to the public from the beginning of the saga, but it was only in “Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets”, the second book, that she began to gain prominence in history. It was Harry’s second year at Hogwarts, while it was Ginny’s first.
Through Tom Riddle’s diary, the girl was possessed by Lord Voldemort, who sucked her life energy and made her find and open the Chamber of Secrets. She spent her entire first year being dominated by the Dark Lord and no one noticed, which is strange enough.
But things become even more meaningless when, after being saved by Harry, she is left with no aftereffects or trauma from the events involving He Who Must Not Be Named. She goes so far as to comment on how she felt in “Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix”, but it was to be expected that she would be a little more affected after a near-death experience.
3. Hex to Beat Boogeyman
Ginny was an expert at the Boogeyman Countering Hex. The spell turned someone’s Bogeyman into large bats, which flew into the person’s face. It was never explained how the girl learned this spell, but it is likely that she learned it herself, since in no class at Hogwarts it was mentioned. Even with the possibility that she learned it by herself, it is not known where she came across this jinx.
4. Love life
The character who had the most eventful love life in the books was, without a doubt, Ginny. She is the only character in the saga who had several relationships, even surpassing the golden trio, who had a maximum of one or two relationships, while other secondary characters never got to date during all the books. It’s a little strange that only she had such an exciting love life.
5. Ginny and Harry’s relationship

One of the most surprising couples in the saga was Ginny and Harry. Everyone knew that she had an unrequited love for Harry from a very young age. So it came as a surprise to fans to see the books’ protagonist, who didn’t have any love interest in her, fall madly in love with her in the blink of an eye.
