With two seasons on Netflix, Rebelde reboot star reveals that the series has been canceled
Apparently, Netflix canceled the series “Rebelde”. Although streaming has not made any official announcement, the actor Sergio MayerMoriwho played the character Esteban in the production, revealed to the Mexican magazine Hola that the production was actually canceled in its second season.
The interview with the star was made in March of this year, but the public only knew about this news today. The actor said:
Netflix producers let us know, ‘thanks for everything, but there won’t be a third season’. I have no idea why (…). It certainly wasn’t my decision.”
The Netflix series was a reboot of the Mexican soap opera “Rebelde”, which was very successful in the 2000s. The production had a total of two seasons and had the following synopsis: “While a secret society that apparently disappeared for 18 years returns to disrupt the new students’ musical dreams and ambitions, they will try to find the best among the best to form their own bands,”
