After signing with Warner Music Korea in late April, Brave Girls announced this Wednesday, the 3rd, that it will adopt a new name for the formation before starting its new journey in the company: BB GIRLS.
Through a note, Warner confirmed the information, stating that “Brave Girls will continue their activities and change the name of their team to BB GIRLS”. In February of this year, after minyoung, Yujeong, Eunji It is Yuna decided not to renew their contracts with Brave Entertainment, the company that formed the girlgroup, the agency announced the end of the group’s activities:
“The exclusive contracts of our agency’s four artists, Minyoung, Yujeong, Eunji, and Yuna, expire today (February 16). Thus, Brave Girls will officially end their activities following the release of their digital single ‘Goodbye,'” Brave Entertainment said in a statement at the time.
Despite the statement issued by the company, all members made it clear that this was not the end of the group. Fulfilling their promise to stay together, the four ended up signing a contract with Warner Music Korea at the end of April, where they are expected to continue their promotions.
Through Instagram, shortly after the news that the group signed with the new agency, the leader minyoung commented on his personal account, where he also suggested that the girl group’s next comeback could take place in the South Korean summer, which takes place between the months of June and August.
“We are preparing with the aim of greeting [os fãs] in the coming summer of 2023, and we’ll greet you all with even better music and new sides of us. I am very grateful to the many fans who were saddened and waiting for news from us after the report of our separation,” Minyoung wrote in the post.
Formed in 2011 by Brave Entertainment, Brave Girls, currently BB GIRLS, has already had several formations. Currently, the group consists of minyoung, Yujeong, Eunji It is Yuna, who have been together since 2016.
