Disneyland Announces First LGBTQ ‘Pride Nite’

Disneyland will host its first “Pride Nite” this summer to coincide with Pride Month.

California theme park he posted on Twitter “Disneyland After Dark: Pride Nite” will take place on Monday, June 13 and 15 to celebrate the LGBTQ+ community and its allies.

The inaugural event is unaffiliated gay dayswhich are organized by third parties and take place each year at the Walt Disney World Resort in Orlando.

Just hours before Disneyland was announced, Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis (R) made his plans public build a state prison near Disneyworld.

DeSantis worked to separate Disney World from her self-governing power as apparent retaliation for the company’s opposition to “Don’t say gay” law.

In the mid-60s, Disney World created a special taxing district called the Reedy Creek Improvement District which gives the corporation powers similar to those of a county government.

Disneyland and Disney World did not immediately respond to HuffPost’s request for comment.

“Pride Nite” isn’t Disneyland’s first Pride event. In 2019, Pride of Disneyland Paris featured Mickey and Minnie in Pride outfits, riding in a car decorated with rainbows and hearts.

“Pride Nite” will launch as a separate ticketed event from 6pm to 9pm, followed by a private party from 9pm to 1am where guests can enjoy special events and stroll through park attractions after normal hours.
