Remember moments where some Disney villains managed to outsmart the heroes of history
At the end of Disney movies, the protagonists are always victorious and if the feature has a villain, the hero wins for being smarter than the bad person in the story. However, in some cases, throughout the plot or in certain situations, the villains manage to be smarter than the main characters.
Therefore, Recreio brought 5 moments where Disney villains managed to outsmart the protagonists. Check out!
1. Madam Mim and the Purple Dragon
Even though she is not the most terrifying Disney villain, Madam Mim from “The Sword in the Stone”, at one point, managed to outsmart Merlin. The two sorcerers entered into a duel and there was a clear rule for Madam Mim: she could not transform into a pink dragon. What Merlin didn’t count on is that she would turn into a purple dragon, which means she didn’t break any rules of the duel.
2. Prince John recognizing Robin Hood
Despite being considered by many as a fool, Prince John of “Robin Hood”, managed at a certain point to be more skewer than the protagonist. This is because during the tournament that takes place in the film, the monarch manages to recognize Robin Hood, even though he is very disguised. So much so that he almost manages to capture the hero once and for all for having recognized him.
3. Úrsula and the contract
One villain who schemed to get what she wanted was Ursula, the villain of “The Little Mermaid”. The Evil Witch of the Sea aimed to have the power of King Triton in her hands and she knew exactly how to achieve this: through Ariel, the youngest daughter of the king of the seas.
When Ursula convinces the princess to sign the contract without even reading what was written, she already imagined that King Triton would interfere to protect her daughter, if the agreement was not fulfilled. That way, she could ask for whatever she wanted in exchange for saving the mermaid, and that’s what she did. The villain ensured that she would receive the power of the king of the seas honestly, all because of a contract.
4. Scar and Mufasa’s death
Another villain who planned well how to achieve his goals was Scar. The villain of “The Lion King” manages to murder his own brother and manipulate Simba, so that the cub who was guilty believes in his father’s death. And everything goes according to what he imagined: Simba flees the Pride Lands and he manages to assume the throne without any obstacle. If Simba had gone to his mother, things would be very different…
5. Hades with the Titans
A villain who took advantage of other villains was Hades, from “Hercules”. He plans and manages to free the Titans, who were imprisoned by Zeus for many years, which once made these mystical creatures only hate the god of thunder. If Hercules hadn’t saved the home of the gods, Hades would probably have conquered Mount Olympus without having to get into a big fight.
