Meet the other girls who should have debuted in BLACKPINK

Before its final formation was announced, BLACKPINK had a different name and more members. Know more!

Consisting of four members — Jisoo, jennie, rosé It is Lisa — BLACKPINK is recognized for being one of the biggest groups today. However, what some people don’t know is that this wasn’t always the original lineup of the girl group created by YG Entertainment.

When the company decided that it would debut a new girl group, the initial idea was for it to have many members, with a minimum of seven and a maximum of nine, with the name Pink Punk. For this reason, many girls ended up being approved for the trainee process, where they remained for years taking intense classes in singing, dancing, acting, languages and much more.

In the documentary ‘BLACKPINK: Light Up The Sky’ released in 2020, jennie revealed that, during the monthly evaluations, all the girls were placed in groups with different formations to be analyzed by the YG evaluators, and that it ended up watching many of its colleagues be eliminated for not passing the tests. In addition, many ended up giving up due to the great uncertainty of their debut.

In addition to the four current members of BLACKPINK, five other girls were heavily tipped to debut in Pink Punk but, for different reasons, unfortunately ended up following other paths. Some of them even made their long-awaited debut in other companies.

Meet now the other members who should debut in Pink Punk, the first group of BLACKPINK.

After participating in the Korean television talent show Superstar K3 in the year 2011, Euna Kim ended up becoming one of YG Entertainment’s trainees. She trained for approximately three years, but left the agency because she didn’t know if she would actually have the opportunity to debut.
