Among the 50 best films of this century, only two animations made the list

Among the 50 chosen, there are only two animations: the film “Wall-E” by Pixar, which is in 14th place, and the feature “Spirited Away”, by Studio Ghibili, which is in 6th place. Critics revealed during the publication the reasons for the positions of the two productions and also highlighted their attributes.
“Wall-E” was released in 2008 and tells the story of a robot who lives alone on Earth while fulfilling his duty to clean up the planet, which has been abandoned and full of garbage. The Hollywood Reporter pointed out that Pixar has made a lot of great movies over the years, and that it was tough to choose. For two decades, “Spirited Away,” which was released in 2001, remained the highest-grossing Japanese feature. The Studio Ghibli production makes the viewer think and cry at the same time, according to critics.
