Roy Wood Jr. brings out the big shots.
The guest host of “The Daily Show” kicked off Tuesday’s show with a breakdown of Donald Trump’s historic trial in Manhattan that afternoon. Then, while he was talking about the pressures of hosting the concert, a surprise visitor stopped by.
“I’m trying to go viral this week. It’s a lot of pressure as a guest host. You have to be funny. You have to be satirical. You must be strong. You have to go viral,” said Wood Jr. “And I don’t know what to do. I wish I had someone to talk to, to guide me.
Enter former host Jon Stewart dressed as Obi-Wan Kenobi.
“Use the force, Roy,” shouted Stewart.
Wood Jr. was confused by the intrusion. “The Daily Show had a white host?” he joked. “Why are you dressed like Obi-Wan Kenobi?”
Apparently, it is “comfortable”.
Wood Jr. has been among the show’s rotating hosts since Trevor Noah’s departure last year. Jordan Klepper is next, followed by Desi Lydic and Dulcé Sloan. The showrunners have not announced a permanent host.
