Have you ever imagined spending your vacation at the iconic Camp Rock? Perhaps this idea is not impossible. Find it out!
Anyone who has watched the classic Disney Channel movie “Camp Rock” has certainly dreamed of spending their summer vacation at Mitchie’s iconic camp (Demi Lovato), Shane (Joe Jonas), Nate (Nick Jonas), Jason (Kevin Jonas), Tess (Meaghan Martin), Ella (Anna Maria Perez), Peggy (Jasmine Richards), Caitlyn (Alyson Stoner) and the whole class. It is not?
The iconic franchise brings the story of Mitchie, a girl who dreams of going to Camp Rock music camp, where young people dedicate their entire vacation to rock music. There, she creates countless friendships, falls in love with pop star Shane Gray, and participates in musical competitions against other campers and even against another camp, Camp Star. All of this may seem like just huge fiction, but did you know that Camp Rock really exists?
Camp Rock in real life
Yes! Not everything in the production was a scenario set up by Disney. The recordings of the franchise took place in Ontario, Canada, in two camps called Wanakita and Kilcoo which, like what happened with the High School Musical school, ended up becoming a tourist attraction thanks to the huge success of the franchise.
The visits became so frequent that, to make it even more evident that the recordings of this classic were made there, the owners of Camp Kilcoo even placed a plaque just like the one in the film at the entrance to the site.
However, unfortunately, not everything about it is the same as in the movies. Unlike Camp Rock, Kilcoo is intended for boys only, and is geared toward sporting activities, not music. Wanakita, on the other hand, accepts boys and girls, even having programs for entire families. But it’s not just about music either.
