On Tuesday, the “Seinfeld” star revealed that he will be leaving the social media platform as soon as the blue check verifying his identity is removed.
Billionaire Twitter owner Elon Musk said the ticks, which were available for free, would disappear from previously verified accounts on Saturday. People can redeem them for up to $11 per month.
“My friends, there are bigger problems in the world than the blue checked check next to my name on this account,” Alexander, aka George Costanza, wrote on the hit sitcom.
“But without her, anyone can claim to be me. So if I lose that check, you know I’m leaving this platform,” she explained to her 732,000 followers. “Who shows up with him = an impostor.”
“I’ll tell you how long it’s still official,” added Alexander, the latest celebrity to condemn the premium service that critics say will allow more imitation on the social media platform.
