The first season of “Percy Jackson and the Olympians” does not yet have a premiere date
The first season of the series “Percy Jackson and the Olympians” has not yet been released, but the creator of the franchise, Rick Riordanhas already revealed through his official blog that he started the script for the second year of production.
In the publication, the writer points out that, despite already being working with the other screenwriters on the new episodes, this does not mean that the second season was approved, just that they were released to create the scripts.
“We’ve started to set up the writers’ room for season two. But that does NOT mean that season two is already guaranteed. It’s too early for that. But we’ve been approved to start developing scripts, and I think everyone’s expectation is that a second season will happen if everything goes as planned. It sure is exciting to play for the team,” said Riordan.
In addition, still on his blog, as reflected by the Omelete portal, Rick also revealed that “Percy Jackson: The Sea of Monsters”, the second book in the franchise, will serve as inspiration for the new season.
“We broke down the action of Percy Jackson’s second book, The Sea of Monsters, into a series of episodes and began to outline what the first few episodes would look like. I love imagining the introduction of Tyson, our favorite Cyclops, and it’s so helpful to imagine our amazing actors in their roles as I visualize the season.”
“Percy Jackson and the Olympians” will feature Walker Scobell in the role of Percy Jackson, Leah Jeffries like Annabeth and Aryan Simhadri giving life to the best friend of the protagonist, Grover.
In addition to them, there are also present in the cast Lance Reddick like Zeus, Toby Stephens giving life to the god Poseidon, Charlie Bushnell in the role of Luke Castellan, Dior Goodjohn as Clarisse LaRue, olivea morton as Nancy Bobofit, Virginia Kull in the role of Sally, Percy’s mother, Glynn Turman like Chiron, Timm Sharp as Gabe, the protagonist’s stepfather, Megan Mulally like Mrs. Dodd, one of the three Furies, Jessica Parker Kennedy like Medusa and Suzanne Cryer like Echidna.
Other Olympian gods also confirmed in the cast are: Jason Mantzoukas like Dionysus, the god of wine, Adam Copeland giving life to Ares, the god of war, Lin-Manuel Miranda playing Hermes, the messenger god, Jay Duplass like Hades, the god of the underworld, while Timothy Omundson will make Hephaestus, the god of metallurgy.
The official synopsis for the series reads: “The fantastical story of a 12-year-old modern-day demigod, Percy Jackson, who is just beginning to come to terms with his supernatural powers when Zeus accuses him of stealing his thunderbolt. Now, Percy will need to cross America to find the weapon and restore order to Olympus.” Check out the teaser!
