This seems to be Gupp’s most ridiculous idea.
Gwyneth Paltrow earlier this weekThe lifestyle company has released a photo of its new disposable diaper, “The Diapér,” which costs $ 120 in 12 packs.
Gupp described the blanket on Instagram as “clean Alpaca wool and amber gemstones known for their ancient emotional cleansing properties.”
Goop has a long history of displaying dubious and fun lifestyle products, including (but not limited to) its famous jade “vagina” eggs. And a candle called Smells in my vagina.”
However, the expensive disposable diaper is a step too far, even for Peltrow. Its launch time was also delayed due to the current deficit of baby formula.
So of course people get angry … but they seem to be.
Peltrow posted a video on Thursday showing that he knew Gupp’s popularity and used him against everyone for a pretty solid troll.
“Goop released an expensive disposable diaper for $ 120 in a 12-pack and it was a huge outrage. “Well,” Peltrow said in the video. “If treating diapers like crazy is madness, taxing them is also a luxury.”
He then confirmed that the “diaper” was fake and meant to irritate people to divert their attention to another problem.
The caption of the video invited people to donate to Baby2Baby to “help provide diapers, baby formula and other necessities to families in need.”
“Despite the absolute demand for diapers, in 33 states they are not considered a necessary item,” the caption said. “They are taxed as a luxury item. (We estimated the price of our imaginary diapers at $ 120, as this is what the annual diaper fee can cost families.)
Caption added:
“Currently, many needy families are also struggling with the lack of formulas across the country.”
