The performer stressed that he is a Russian-speaking Ukrainian born in Odessa, and is sure that there is no better country than Ukraine.
Ukrainian singer Slava Kaminska for the first time in her career has released a Ukrainian-language song called I want to go home. The video appeared on the star’s YouTube channel.
“We were strangers in a foreign country, and anywhere we wouldn’t be as comfortable as at home,” said Slava, who, because of the war in the Russian Federation, had left for the Netherlands with her children.
The track became a soul cry for the singer.
“It’s not just my disease. It’s the disease of my country. I’m a Russian-speaking Ukrainian born in Odessa, and for me this is the first Ukrainian work as an author. Although not, it’s not a job – it’s a cry from the heart. Many women with children go to other countries to be safe. But we stayed home in spirit.I’m sure there is no better country than Ukraine.I’m sure I know that there is no better city than where we and our children were born, “Kaminska stressed.
He also mentioned that he was happy to be Ukrainian.
“A foreign country will never be home. My whole life I’ve stayed at home … in Odessa, in Kyiv, in Kharkov. I’m worried about my kids, so I’m still not where I want to be and my family. Only now have I fully realized how much I love my country! I want to go home! ” – added the singer.
Recall that earlier the Kalush Orchestra, along with competitors from Finland, the rock band The Rasmus, performed three songs – Stefania, Jezabel and In The Shadows.
