The pop icon made a stunning entrance at Sunday’s ceremony in a floor-length black dress and a Versace bustier. But by the time she took the stage to perform “Hold My Hand,” her Oscar-nominated song from “Top Gun: Maverick,” she’d traded Hollywood glamor for a casual T-shirt, ripped jeans and minimal makeup.
Gaga’s understated approach was a significant change from 2019, when she teamed up with Bradley Cooper, who directed and starred alongside Gaga in “A Star is Born,” for a dreamy rendition of “Shallow” on the Oscars scene.
