Junghwan debuted as a member of TREASURE when he was just 15 years old.
During a recent YouTube video, junghwanmaknae do TREASUREa YG Entertainment boy group, vented alongside his groupmate, hyunsukabout the difficulties he faced when debuting as a K-pop idol at such a young age.
The star, who turned 18 in February, got his start in the entertainment industry as a child, and has starred in numerous commercials and K-dramas. His debut as a k-pop idol, however, took place in 2020, when he was only 15 years old, after being one of the finalists of the survival program “YG Treasure Box”.
During the video of the “T-Talk” frame, junghwan comment with hyunsuk that it has been five years since he met its members, and that he has grown up with them. However, due to her young age, she struggled with having to split her time between school and training hours.
“I learned early on how to survive and live alone. It was so difficult at the time”, vented the maknae, who also revealed that he does not regret the decisions he made. “I always saw and received good influences… I feel very grateful when I look back now”.
When following the youngest member’s outburst, hyunsuk made sure to share a few words of approval, highlighting how proud he is of his teammate.
“I felt so bad for you. You are in the 12th grade [da escola] now, but was even younger then. You had such a strong mind and you were completely determined. You thought more maturely than other older members,” said the TREASURE co-leader.
TREASURE debuted in the year 2020 under YG Entertainment through the survival program “YG Treasure Box”, and currently consists of 10 members: Choi Hyunsuk, Jihoon, Yoshi, Junkyu, Yoon Jaehyuk, Asahi, Haruto, doyoung, Park Jeongwoo It is So Junghwan.
Their most recent comeback took place in October 2022 with the second mini album “The Second Step: Chapter Two”. Check out the video for the title track “HELLO”!
