Check out some questionable moments present in the High School Musical franchise
With its first film released in 2006, “High School Musical” is, to this day, one of Disney Channel’s most popular franchises. The films that tell the story of Troy, Gabriella, Ryan, Sharpay, Chad and Taylor are directed by Kenny Ortegabeing marked by a wide variety of songs and choreographies.
However, despite being loved by thousands of fans around the world, the films still have some moments that don’t make much sense. Check out!
1. Ryan and Sharpay as Romeo and Juliet
While talking to Gabriella, Taylor comments that if Sharpay could find a way to play both Romeo and Juliet, he wouldn’t think twice about discarding his own brother. The scene, however, confused some fans, who raised two questions: would Sharpay be willing to play the classic couple created by William Shakespeare next to Ryan? Or has that already happened?
2. The auditions for the musical
Still talking about the classic East High school winter musical, another thing that doesn’t quite make sense is the audition process. In the film, candidates are only asked to sing, and do not show any of their acting or dancing skills, something extremely essential for a musical theater piece.
3. Troy get jobs for all the Wildcats
In “High School Musical 2,” Sharpay forces the manager of his family’s resort, Lava Springs, to hire Troy no matter what. However, in addition to hiring the captain of the basketball team, Mr. Fulton also employs all of Bolton’s friends. The big question is, how did he manage to hire all these people? Was the resort understaffed? Or did he just fire everyone to admit the Wildcats?
4. Troy being valedictorian
In the United States, it is common for the valedictorian to be the student with the highest grade point average among graduates. Among the Wildcats, the franchise always made it clear that the smartest students in the class were Gabriella and Taylor, but who ended up taking over was Troy, the captain of the basketball team and one of the most popular students in the school.
5. Troy Applying for a Fellowship at Julliard
Prior to Gabriella’s arrival at East High, Troy had never dabbled in art. His first contact with her happens during the winter musical, where everyone starts to notice his great potential as a singer and actor, unlike other students who have spent their entire lives dedicating themselves to music, dance or theater. Even with little experience, Troy still had the application made by Ms. Darbus on her behalf to apply for a fellowship at Julliard, America’s premier college for the arts.
