Jamie Lee Curtis got pretty pissed when she gave her warm opinion about going to concerts.
The star of “Everything Everywhere All at Once” was every aging Millennial, Gen Xer, and Boomer all at once, passionately advocating for musicians to start playing afternoon shows.
“I will say it now only as a challenge and as a suggestion. U2 – have a matinee. Coldplay: Hold a matinee. How about a concert at 12, Coldplay? What’s going on?” Curtis told The Hollywood Reporter on the Spirit Awards red carpet over the weekend.
Then Curtis got especially heated when he addressed the boss.
“Bruce Springsteen – put on one hell of a matinee! You are old! Why don’t you let me come see you, Bruce Springsteen, in your glory days—pun intended—and do it at lunch or one? Both! Matinee at two! … Theater in New York, 2 o’clock! I will come to hear your five hour concert Bruce at 2 and be home and in bed by 7:30.
Although Curtis seems to be unaware that daytime festivals exist and that many people wouldn’t be able to attend a daytime concert on a weekday, among other concerns…
… most Twitter users loved his idea.
Earlier in his red carpet interview with THR, Curtis also revealed a “secret” about the station he aired during a private dinner for all the Oscar nominees this weekend. Curtis is nominated for Best Supporting Actress for her role in the surreal comedy by Daniel Kwan and Daniel Scheinert.
“I’m going to tell you a secret right now,” the “Freaky Friday” star told the media. “There’s a private dinner for the Academy Awards nominees Thursday night starting at 7:30, and I declined.”
When asked why, Curtis clarified: “Because mom goes to bed early.”
The “Halloween” scream queen has been talking a lot about being early lately.
“Today,” he asked Curtis Tuesday how early the dinner would have to be for her to attend, and she replied, “Five!”
“Here’s the thing, you see, there is a candidate Lunch, which was amazing,” Curtis continued. “Because it was lunch time and we were all there, we were all dressed up, they took that big class picture with everybody. It was exciting! If it had been at night, I would have left, but it would have been difficult for me.”
