Find out which of the biggest hits of ‘Encanto’ was created from the classic Disney story
Forming part of the list of Disney animations that achieved immediate success, ‘Encanto’, a film that hit theaters in 2021, became one of the instant darlings among lovers of the studio’s productions, since in addition to unique characters and a story full of representativeness, the feature still has another great highlight: the songs.
The songs that are signed by Lin-Manuel Miranda help tell the story of each character and help transform the experience of watching the film into something much more dynamic and fun. With that, the combination fell in public taste, making the tracks top the music charts on several platforms, in addition to having earned the feature film a golden statuette in the ‘Best Original Soundtrack’ category at the Oscar 2022.
However, what some may not know is that one of the songs was inspired by one of Disney’s greatest classics: ‘Beauty and the Beast’.

Just like the animation that is commanded by the filmmakers byron howard It is Jared Bushthe 1991 story that tells the story of a girl who loves books and who will live a great transformation in her life after being imprisoned in the cursed castle of a great Beast, has several iconic songs to symbolize the moments of the plot.
Among them is ‘Bela’, a track that appears right at the beginning of the film and details the everyday life of the lovely protagonist, in addition to also introducing the characters that will help tell the story, as is the case of the plot’s villain Gaston and his bumbling sidekick, LeFou. Remember!
The animated song, which has a sequence full of details, brought ideas to Lin-Manuel Miranda for the creation of one of the biggest tracks on ‘Encanto’, — and if you’re thinking that maybe it’s for the biggest hit of the film, namely the song ‘No talk about Bruno’, you’re wrong!
Before the song that narrates the reasons why Mirabel’s uncle does not even have his name mentioned by the members of the Madrigal family is included, or rather, right in the opening scenes of the plot, Mirabel sings ‘Família Madrigal’, which, just like in the sequence of ‘Beauty and the Beast‘, serves to introduce the characters that will guide the story.
That’s because, ‘Família Madrigal’ describes how and what are the powers of those who inhabit the Casita while Mirabel travels through her village located high in the mountains of Colombia and reveals to a group of children the main facts and facts about Julieta, Pepa, Bruno, Dolores, Isabela, Luisa, Camilo, Agustín, Félix, and of course, your Abuela Alma.
It is worth remembering that the disclosure was made by Miranda in an interview with the Los Angeles Times (via AmeiCinema), where he explained the reasons behind his choice:
We wanted to achieve the complexity of a family on screen,” he explained. “And that means you have to involve them and not let them get lost in the process of the story – where you tend to focus on the main character and his quest. It should be super clear who they are, what their bond is, what they can do and how that affects our main character.”
