“The last of usis officially part of the HBO family.
A fan spotted a production glitch in episode 6, while Joel (Pedro Pascal) and Ellie (Bella Ramsey) travel to Jackson, Wyoming. A defining photo shows an overhead view of the snowy terrain the pair are traveling through, and an eagle-eyed onlooker noticed something was amiss.
So when Neil Druckmann — co-creator of the video game “The Last of Us” and its adapted series — tweeted about a spoiler trending on the platform after the episode aired, the detail-oriented fan jumped at the opportunity to point out the hiccup
“Brilliant episode,” the fan wrote on Twitter alongside a screenshot of the scene. “Something you might want to fix and reload though. You can see the film crew in this photo.
Evidence of a behind-the-scenes element leading up to a fantasy series finale has also surfaced in another popular HBO series – ‘Game of Thrones’.
Fans of the show went wild in 2019 when they saw a Starbucks cup seated on a banquet table dressed in medieval style next to Emilia Clark’s Daenerys Targaryen.
The similarity between the continuity errors in “Last of Us” and “Game of Thrones” was certainly not lost on the fan who originally pointed out Druckmann’s error.
They later posted another screenshot of the crew and cleverly highlighted their presence with Starbucks coffee cups.
Although this gaffe was a fairly minor one in the pantheon of pop culture gaffeswe urge Druckmann not to fix it because it’s fun!
Plus, wouldn’t it be much more gratifying if the show owned up to the mistake by having Joel explain to young Ellie that before the apocalypse, people spent their hard-earned resources on an expensive cup of coffee ? We’d love to hear Ellie’s profanity-laced version of this kind of nonsense.
