Actor Olivia Colman used a playful radio interview to hit back at old friend Paul Rudd for not telling him she was in England promoting her new Marvel film Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania.
Rudd was taking part in a fake advice segment – titled “Ant-Man Agony” – on the BBC Radio 1 breakfast show when Colman called in a fake Welsh accent.
“Hi Paul, I’m a big fan. I wanted to pick your brain,” she said. “What would you do if you had a great partner of over 20 years and then this friend, he doesn’t live in England but he came to England and he didn’t tell you about it? And then not only did he not tell you about it, but he went on a radio show?”
“Oh, God. Oh, no,” Rudd replied.
“Would you be offended?” Colman continued.
Rudd, apparently now knowing who he was talking to, replied: “Personally, if it’s me, absolutely not. I tend to give everyone the benefit of the doubt.”
“Okay,” Colman laughed as he dropped his accent and identified himself. She then recalled how their 20-year friendship began when they appeared in the same play and Rudd was “sitting on the floor of our rubbish flat”.
