Celebrate J-Hope’s birthday with some fun facts you might not have known
On February 18, 1994, in the city of Kwankju, South Korea, exactly 29 years ago, was born Jung Hoseokour j-hope, by BTS. Second hoseokhe chose j-hope as his stage name because he would like to be a source of light and hope for his ARMYs, as the word “hope” means hope in English.
He debuted with the group in 2013, and made his debut as a soloist with the release of “Jack In the Box”, his first official solo album, which arrived accompanied by a video full of production and a lot of fire for the track “Arson ”. Check out!
In addition to “Arson”, the disc featured the release of a video for the song “MORE”, however, “Jack in the Box” has eight more new songs: “Intro”, “Pandora’s Box”, “STOP (세상에 나쁜 사람은 없다)”, “= (Equal Sign)”, “Music Box: Reflection”, “What if…”, “Safety Zone” and “Future”.

1. Audition for JYP Entertainment
Before joining BigHit, in 2010, hoseok held auditions for another k-pop company: JYP Entertainment, where they were also present dinofrom HALO, and Youngjaefrom BAP
2. Tennis player
During an interview for Inkigayo in the year 2015, j-hope revealed that he used to play tennis when he was in school, and even participated in competitions where, once, he managed to win the bronze medal — but the detail is that the tournament had only three competing teams.
3. Cafuné fan
Who doesn’t love a good cafuné, right? Second j-hope, he loves having his hair caressed, being a good helper to fall asleep. The idol revealed that this is a practice he acquired since childhood, as his mother used to pet him when he put him to sleep. Cute!
4. Gratitude to ARMYs
If there’s something that j-hope always do is show their love, care, and gratitude to ARMYs. According to MRIwhenever BTS makes a comeback or ends album promotions, hoseok usually say that everything was only possible thanks to the love shown by the fans.
5. Ideal date
Being people like us, j-hope already revealed that you don’t need a lot of luxury to have a perfect date. Because he loves the sea, he said that he “would like to walk to the beach and hold hands”.
