Adam Basil, the stuntman who played “The Bloater” in “The Last of Us,said Entertainment Weekly ON That unspeakably violent mushroom-covered beast he played in episode 5 became “a bit of a sex icon” on Tuesday.
The man who introduced HBO audiences to the massive, zombie-like version of Clickers last week isn’t even holding back on the psilocybin.
“It captured the imagination of a lot of people,” Basil told the media. “Someone asked me if I came to their wedding. I had people send me love messages. It brought out something in people that they didn’t even know they had. He’s the big daddy mushroom, I think he was a… [meme].”
Apparently there is little appetite online for the juicy-headed giant who, we’ll admit, has mouth-watering thick thighs. But a post in Out magazine about Basil – who has also appeared in ‘Game of Thrones’ and the live-action ‘Beauty and the Beast’ – suggests that people are drawn to the 6-metre-tall British stuntman, and not necessarily the balloonist.
But if you’re more drawn to Boater than Basil, hopefully you’ll find the stuntman’s descriptions on EW of how the show’s special effects team covered him in “blood and gore” and how his costume included “stiff hair and . . . fragmented”. “. teeth” sizzling like sauteed mushrooms.
