A spokesman for Dave Chapel released a statement referring to the comedian’s stage attack on Tuesday night as he was performing at the Hollywood Bowl in Los Angeles.
“Although the incident was sad and disturbing, Chapelle continued the show,” Chapelle spokeswoman Carla Sims said in a statement. Jamie Foxx and Chris Rocky helped calm people down with humor before the Chapel introduced the final guests of the evening.
The comedian is “fully cooperating with active police investigations,” the statement said.
Updated information from Chapel representative: The comedian “refused to let last night’s incident overwhelm the magic of this historic moment …” Because the incident was sad and disturbing, Chapel resumed the show.

Chapel was performing at the Hollywood Bowl Festival “Netflix Is A Joke” on Tuesday when the striker jumped on stage and fell to the ground. Police said the offender showed the found copy of the pistol containing the knife and pointed it at Chapel. Hollywood Bowl security officials intervened and arrested the man.
After the incident, the comedian continued to joke and was joined on stage by fellow comedian Chris Rock, who said, “Is it Will Smith?” Referring to his own incident at the Oscars ceremony earlier this year.
Isaiah Lee, an attack suspect, was arrested by the LAPD on suspicion of attack using a deadly weapon. It said in a press release.
“We are extremely concerned about the safety of the creators and we fully respect the right of stand-up comedians to appear on stage without fear of violence,” said a spokesperson for Netflix. This is stated in the statement of CNN.
