Olesya Ochepovskaya has been living in the Czech Republic for years and supports Ukraine in the war launched by Russia.
The national selection for Eurovision 2023 took place in the Czech Republic, where the group VESNA won with the song My sister’s crown. It was reported by Eurovision Song Contest Czech Republic.
It was noted that the composition will sound in several languages - English, Czech, Bulgarian, and the chorus – in Ukrainian.
According to the members of the group, which also includes the Russian Olesya Ochepovskaya, in this song they express support for their “sister” – Ukraine.
“When we made the decision to record the song My Sisters Crown and enter it into the competition, it was clear that this year’s Eurovision will not take place in the country that won last year. We decided to make an artistic choice to pay tribute to our beloved that sister, Ukraine. Because of this, the chorus of the song is sung in Ukrainian. Since Ukraine is going through very difficult times today, we want to express our clear support for Ukraine in these difficult times, ” they wrote on Instagram.
Earlier it was reported that the group from Ternopil TVORCHI officially became the representative of Ukraine at the international song contest Eurovision-2023.
