‘SpongeBob SquarePants’ premiered in 1999 and has more than two hundred episodes
Being one of the classic cartoons of the 90s, ‘SpongeBob SquarePants’ has more than 200 episodes to present the adventures that arise in the daily life of the yellow porifera that lives in a pineapple with her pet snail and whose best friend is a star of the sea called Patrick.
Among the events that arise in SpongeBob’s day-to-day life are the disturbances he causes in the neighborhood and that take the patience of his neighbor Squidward, as well as the disasters that arise in Mr. Sirigueijo, the Krusty Krab, where he works frying hamburgers, and his exploration missions through the depths of the Bikini Bottom, a place that is the scene of his jellyfish hunts.
However, what many do not know is that the fun plot that takes place at the bottom of the sea has episodes that were produced, but that did not make their debut on the small screen, for a somewhat delicate reason: the content presented was considered sensitive and inappropriate.
In total, there were two episodes banned not only from the Nickelodeon catalogue, the broadcaster that broadcasts the animated series on TV, but also from any streaming platform that contains the cartoon as one of its contents.
THE EPISODES
The first among those excluded is “Mid-Life Crustacean”, an episode that appeared in the third season and which was removed after a review that identified that there are elements in the plot that are not suitable for the entertainment of the target audience, that is, children. .
In the story, Mr. Krabs feels that he is getting old and to revive his youthful spirit, he ends up embarking on a night full of madness alongside SpongeBob and Patrick. Among the events, one of the trio’s actions includes breaking into a woman’s house, where they end up stealing one of her panties.
In addition to this, there is also the “Kwarantined Krab”, a plot that was originally included in the 12th season of ‘SpongeBob’. Here, the animation says that the Krusty Siri was infected by a virus, where, after the health surveillance determined that the place was not safe, it determined that SpongeBob, Patrick Estrela, Pérola, Mrs. Puff and other characters are kept in quarantine.

However, the story will soon gain another film, as Nickelodeon Animation and Paramount have confirmed that a fourth film of the character will hit theaters on May 23, 2025.
