Lisa Loring, the actress best known for playing Wednesday Addams on the beloved 1960s sitcom “The Addams Family,” has died. He was 64 years old.
Friend Laurie Jacobson reported the death on Facebook on Sunday. Loring’s daughter Vanessa Foumberg confirmed the news to Variety, saying her mother “passed away peacefully with both daughters holding her hand” on Saturday.
According to Jacobson, Loring suffered a stroke and was kept alive for three days before her death.
“Yesterday his family made the difficult decision to remove him and he passed away last night. She is embedded in the tapestry that is pop culture and in our hearts forever as Wednesday Addams,” Jacobson wrote, adding:
“Beautiful, kind, a loving mother, Lisa’s legacy in show business is enormous. And the legacy of his family and friends: a wealth of humor, affection and love will play long in our memories. RIP, Lisa. Damn girl…you were so funny.
Loring was just 6 years old when she was cast in “The Addams Family.” He went on to make appearances in series such as ‘The Girl From UNCLE’, ‘Fantasy Island’, ‘Barnaby Jones’ and ‘As the World Turns’, as well as films such as ‘Savage Harbor’ and ‘Blood Frenzy’. . She recently appeared in the 2015 horror film Doctor Spine.
Her work as Wednesday Addams recently gained renewed attention after portraying the character of Jenna Ortega in the Netflix series “Wednesday.” Last month, Ortega SAPS paid homage to Loring in the choreography of his now-viral dance scene.
Loring is survived by her daughters, Marianne and Vanessa.
Representatives for Loring did not immediately respond to requests for comment.
