Canadian director James Cameron’s Avatar: The Way of the Water has become the sixth film in history to gross over $2 billion worldwide. This was reported on the Forbes website, citing a statement from Disney.
Since its release, the film has grossed $598 million in the US and $1.426 billion worldwide.
At $2.024 billion, Waterway is currently the sixth highest-grossing film of all time, behind only Avengers: Infinity War ($2.052 billion) and Star Wars. Episode VII: The Force Awakens ($2.071 billion)
