The famous French street artist Christian Gemi, known to the public under the pseudonym C215, spoke about his work on destroyed buildings and post-war equipment in the Kyiv region. He shared the details in an interview with TSN.
According to him, he was trying to tell the world about the Russian invasion. The artist arrived in Ukraine in March last year. Soon he plans to visit our country again.
“Yes, I was scared, but I felt I had to do it in order to show the French what exactly is happening in Ukraine. your country. There were many doubts about various topics, for example, why should we accept of refugees, and all that stuff,” he said.
He also admitted that he depicted his son in graffiti in the Shevchenksky district of the capital.
“My son still does not understand the significance of my drawings. But by depicting my son, I want to show that Ukrainian children, like children from different parts of the world, are like of my children. They belong to all humanity. When the enemy destroys the ordinary life of a child, he destroys all humanity” said Gemi.
At the same time, the artist expressed the hope that in the near future his graffiti in Ukraine will disappear, because peace will come.
“Many of my works came out of the ruins. I hope they disappear soon, because it means that these buildings have been restored. It’s like a renaissance,” he said.
