The Ukrainian film entered the competition program of the Berlinale-2023

The film will compete for success in the Panorama competition program. The tape will be released in Ukrainian cinemas in 2023.

A film by Ukrainian director Tonya Noyabreva was called Do you love me? will represent our country at the Berlin International Film Festival Berlinale 2023. This is stated on the official website of the film inspection.

The competition program presents films from around the world with a strong political, gender or social context.

The tape is shot by Family Production with the support of Goskino in co-production with Commonground Pictures and the Scandinavian film fund Film i Vast.

According to the plot, the story is about a coming-of-age story, which unfolds on the eve of the collapse of the USSR. The main character is a 17-year-old girl Kira, who witnesses the divorce of her parents, the collapse of one country and the birth of another.

The film stars Karina Khimchuk, Natalya Lazebnikova, Alexander Zhyla and Maxim Mikhailichenko.

“This is a personal story of me growing up and building a generation. This is my song about breaking away from childhood illusions and about a desperate search for love. I want the audience to physically feel how our past slipped like sand in our My Kira is a symbol of my generation, the first generation of independent Ukraine,” explained the director.

The film festival will be held from 16 to 26 February.
