Paget Brewster plans to stay “curious and sexy” as she looks to her future in Hollywood.
The 53-year-old actor, best known for playing Emily Prentiss in the drama series “Criminal Minds,” ushered in the new year on Sunday by sharing his thoughts on aging and his decision not to go under the knife.
“Hello, boys. I’m excited for 2023!” he wrote on Twitter, alongside a photo showing his gray hair. “It’s hard to get old and not have injections or surgery, but I choose it. I am older. I’m still hard working, curious and sexy. Very sexy.”
By midday Tuesday, Brewster’s tweet had received nearly 130,000 likes and a multitude of supportive comments. Many followers shared selfies in which they too showed off their gray steps.
“I just wish that aging honestly — and with pride — was the norm,” reporter Amy Biancolli wrote. “The older we get, the dumber we get. This is the lesson and the arc of life.
Added ‘Portlandia’ producer Evan Shapiro: ‘Grey is the new black. You look great, better than ever.”
Brewster joins several women in the entertainment industry, including Jamie Lee Curtis and Andie MacDowell, who are choosing to embrace their age, even if it means speaking out against cosmetic procedures.
In July, the actor shared another photo of himself rocking his gray hair, pointing out that he chose not to dye it.
“I felt the pressure to dye it, pretend I’m 35 again, no thanks.” he wrote on Twitter for now. “We all have huge problems to deal with, I know. This is a small battle. But I think we all have our own battles. We start by being kind to each other, even when we disagree. Please.”
