Accident leaves Jeremy Renner, MCU’s Hawkeye, in “critical condition”

The information was confirmed by Jeremy Renner’s representative, who said that despite the injuries, the actor is stable.

Last Sunday, 01, Jeremy Renner, an actor popularly known for bringing Hawkeye to life in Marvel movies, had an accident while cleaning snow. According to the star’s representative, he is hospitalized in “critical but stable condition”.

We can confirm that Jeremy is in critical but stable condition with injuries sustained after having a weather related accident while shoveling snow earlier today. His family is with him and he’s in great care,” the source revealed to Variety.

Details on how the accident occurred have not yet been released, but a representative of the local police reported how the actor’s rescue was carried out, informing The Hollywood Reporter that Renner was the only one involved in the situation and that he was taken by helicopter to a hospital in the region.

Although the place where everything happened has not been confirmed, it is public knowledge that the actor lives in Washoe County, in the state of Nevada, in the United States. It is worth remembering that the region was hit by an intense winter storm, leaving 35,000 homes without power on New Year’s Eve.

The actor, who will be 52 years old on the 7th, entered the MCU through “Thor” (2011) where he appeared playing Clint Barton, the superhero Hawkeye. After gaining more prominence in “The Avengers” (2012), the character of Renner became an important player in the world of superheroes, even winning a self-titled miniseries on Disney+.

In addition to his role in the Marvel universe, Renner stars in the Paramount+ series Mayor of Kingstown, which will get its second season later this month. Even so, the actor has also been awarded with two Oscar nominations for the films “The War on Terror”, where he competed in the Best Actor category in 2010, and “Dangerous Attraction”, as Best Supporting Actor in 2011.
