CNN has at least made one major change to its New Year’s Eve coverage, banning hosts from drinking alcohol on air, a practice that has led to some viral moments like previous the holidays are over a little off the rails.
The network tried to compensate with a different kind of on-air drinking game for New York hosts Anderson Cooper and Andy Cohen.
They were given some bland mystery photos and asked to guess what they were – and the answers made Cooper, Cohen and the audience all monks.

“Socks? Shoes?” Cooper guessed immediately after trying apple cider vinegar.
“I need tequila,” Cohen yelled:
Before the show, Cohen promised to have a good time despite the alcohol ban.
“We don’t drink, but we’re going to have fun,” she told Page Six.
His on-air reaction suggests that some parts of the show may have been less explosive than others.
