Disillusioned comedian Bill Cosby is looking to give live comedy a second try and hopes to be the ‘Bill Cosby’ that audiences know after a sexual assault conviction and three-year prison sentence.
She told “WGH Talk” host Scott Spears on Wednesday that she believes she will be on tour next year, according to Variety.
Cosby was convicted of felony sexual assault in 2018, a conviction that was later overturned by the Pennsylvania Supreme Court in 2021. However, he continues to face legal trouble again this month as five women, including two featured on “The Cosby Show” — filed a lawsuit accusing him of sexual assault between about 1969 and 1990.
Legal troubles don’t seem to deter him from leaving the scene.
Cosby, when asked if he would tour in 2023, said he was considering a comeback.
“Yeah, because they’re so funny in this story they’re doing. Years ago, maybe 10 years ago, I discovered that it’s better to say it after I’ve written it.”
The comedian is “looking forward to spring/summer to start touring,” Cosby’s rep Andrew Wyatt told Variety.
“When I get over this, I feel like I’ll be able to perform and be the Bill Cosby that my audience knows I am,” Cosby said.
The prospect of Cosby, who has been accused of sexually assaulting dozens of women, returning to the streets to tell jokes did not appeal to Twitter users.
