The satellite city name of the Yuzhnoukrainsk station has not been changed, but it is only a matter of time and longer procedures, Energoatom explained.
NAEK Energoatom changed the name of the South Ukrainian NPP, renaming it to Pivdennoukrainskaya. An appropriate order was signed about it, the company’s press service reported on Wednesday, April 27th.
“The South Ukrainian Nuclear Power Plant is now Pivdennoukrainskaya! The order to change its name was signed by the head of NAEK Energoatom Petr Kotin” to carry the name of the South Ukrainian NPP in accordance with the requirements of state language standards and the rules of Ukrainian spelling, “the report said.
From now on, the abbreviated name of the station is PAES.
“The satellite city name of the Yuzhnoukrainsk station has not been changed, but it is only a matter of time and longer procedures,” Energoatom explains.
As is known, TNPP is located in the steppe zone on the left bank of the Southern Bug near the city of Yuzhnoukrainsk, Mykolaiv region. Built in 1975-1982. It produces the power of three million powerful VVER-1000 power units.
We remind you that in April Russian missiles flew over the Pivdennoukrainsk nuclear power plant. It was another act of Russian nuclear terrorism that threatened the security of the whole world, Energoatom said at the time.
