New closures of European countries are unlikely to happen before the second half of May, the source said.

European companies began to open ruble accounts in the Russian Gazprombank to pay for gas. At the same time, four of them have already paid, Bloomberg reported on Wednesday, April 27, citing a source close to Gazprom.

“Although other consumers have rejected the Kremlin’s rules, new closures after cutting gas supplies to Poland and Bulgaria on Wednesday are unlikely to happen until the second half of May, when the next payments are must be paid, “the source said.

At the same time, 10 companies in Europe have already opened accounts with Gazprombank, the source said. Russia supplies gas through pipelines to 23 European countries.

Recall that the European Union intends to respond to the suspension of gas supplies to Poland and Bulgaria. This was stated by the head of the European Commission Ursula von der Leyen.

Against the background of this decision of the Russian Federation, exchange prices for gas jumped by 21% and exceeded $ 1,350 per thousand cubic meters.
