Ukraine connected its power grids to the Europeans on March 16. Now Ukrenergo has received the status of an observer member.
Ukrenergo received the status of an observer member in the European energy system ENTSO-E, the press service of the Ministry of Energy reported on Tuesday, April 26.
This status will allow the company to join the international association of operators of European transmission systems.
Also, the Ukrainian operator will participate in meetings of the Regional Group ENTSO-E Continental Europe.
In addition, company representatives can join the working and expert group of ENTSO-E that deals with the development of the electricity market, balancing, auxiliary services, exchange of electronic data, development of cyber defense in electricity sector, the integration of renewable energy sources, etc.
Recall that Ukraine was disconnected from the energy system of Russia and Belarus on February 24 – the day of the Russian invasion.
Since March 16, Ukraine has connected its power grids to Europeans without the right of commercial overflows – export -import.
