“In the company Gazprom, included in the list of sanctions, today, by the decision of the Minister of Development and Technology, Waldemar Buda, a temporary compulsory administration was established. It covers all shares of Gazprom in EuRoPol GAZ. So , the security of critical infrastructure will be ensured,” the message said.
Minister Buda said that the establishment of compulsory supervision is necessary for the proper functioning of EuRoPol GAZ, including to avoid decision paralysis in this company and to ensure the security of the critical gas transportation infrastructure.
“This decision serves to increase Poland’s energy and economic security, especially now, when we are dealing with Russia’s aggression in Ukraine and Putin’s actions aimed at destabilizing the situation in Europe,” added Polish minister.
EuRoPol GAZ is a joint venture between Gazprom and Poland’s PGNiG, which owns the Polish section of the Yamal-Europe gas pipeline. At the same time, the operator of this section of the pipeline, as well as the entire Polish gas transmission system, is the Polish company Gaz-System.
As is known, the Yamal-Europe pipeline can deliver up to 33 billion cubic meters of gas from the fields of the Russian Yamal Peninsula and Western Siberia through Belarus and Poland to Germany. In April, Gazprom completely stopped gas supplies through this gas pipeline in April.
