It is expected that joint EU projects with Kazakhstan, for example, in the field of mining and oil refining processes, will be developed in the next six months.
On the eve it was also learned that Kazakhstan intends to increase the transportation of oil through the Trans-Caspian route to 20 million tons per year. This was said by the President of the country Kassym-Jomart Tokayev at a public meeting of the Mangistau region.
The head of state noted that considering the current situation in world markets, the further development of the Trans-Caspian route is of particular importance.
“On this issue, we have a mutual understanding with partner countries. We need to activate all available capacities of Aktau and Kuryk ports to increase throughput and bring oil transportation volume up to 20 million tons per year ,” added the president.
Earlier, Kassym-Jomart Tokayev expressed his readiness to help the EU overcome its energy deficit. He said this in a telephone conversation with the President of the European Council, Charles Michel.
