If an increase in tariffs is inevitable, the government must find a way to compensate the industry for the increase in production costs, according to the Union of Chemists.
The increase in tariffs for the transmission and transmission of electricity will be an additional burden on the enterprises of the chemical industry, which may lead to an increase in prices for products and a decrease in the stability of the work of enterprises. This was said by the head of the Union of Chemists Igor Golchenko, RBC-Ukraine reports.
“The increase in tariffs is an additional burden that will affect the operation of businesses, prices, and payments. We are trying to keep the wages of employees as much as possible,” he said.
If Ukrenergo’s tariff increase is inevitable, Golchenko said, the government must find a way to compensate the industry for the increase in production costs.
“Today businesses are operating in such a mode when we don’t know when the electricity will be cut and for how long. We are asking to develop mechanisms to compensate the industry, as they do in the EU, and if the increase of the tariff of electricity is inevitable, provide a reduction in the costs of enterprises in other directions. After all, simply taking working capital from operating enterprises is not the wisest way in this situation. The authorities should understand which is difficult for everyone now,” he emphasized.
It was previously reported that Ukrenergo introduced a 273% increase in the tariff for power transmission and 84% for power transmission in 2023, which caused serious concern among metallurgists, the Federation of Transport Employers of Ukraine, as well as also representatives of the Ukrainian National Committee. of the International Chamber of Commerce.
