Shmyhal set tasks for the new head of Naftogaz

Alexey Chernyshov should ensure the passage of the heating season and the management of thermal power plants, transferred to the management of Naftogaz.

Prime Minister Denys Shmygal welcomed Oleksiy Chernyshov to his appointment as Chairman of the Board of NJSC Naftogaz of Ukraine and immediately set some tasks for him. The head of government wrote this on Telegram on Friday, November 4.

“During a massive war, Naftogaz has been and remains one of the main elements of our energy security. The company maintains production at a stable level. Sufficient gas is accumulated in storage facilities for a stable heating period,” Shmyhal said.

According to him, Alexey Chernyshov faced important tasks:

• passing during heating

• management of thermal power plants, transferred to the management of Naftogaz

• gas accumulation throughout the heating period

• increasing own gas production

• providing financial resources for the stable operation of the company.

Shmyhal also thanked the previously dismissed Yuriy Vitrenko for his work as head of Naftogaz during the war.

It will be remembered that on November 4, the Cabinet of Ministers appointed Alexei Chernyshov to the post of chairman of the board of NJSC Naftogaz. Also, Vasily Lozinsky, previously the first deputy head of the department, was appointed acting minister for the development of communities and territories.
